Just had an advancement on my bike issues. After surfing trademe and ebay and watching items closely to gauge bidding levels and such me and my dad finally mannaged to win one.

Just won this bid off ebay. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=35580&item=4555564386&rd=1)

Now I don't have to worry about any bumbs in the road knocking my duct taped ignition out of allignment and killing the engine. Comes with everything on the bike that needs a key except the tool compartment (that I never use anyway) and a chain to lock it up with. I imagine that the chain will probably mainly be used for locking my helmet to my bike since it doesn't look very sturdy.

Anyway will keep updated as the other auctions I am watching come to a close.

Congrats on winning that one. I think you can actualy get a lock barrell re-keyd. So ask your local key-smith about re-keying your toolbox lock and all will be perfect :D

Here are some current pics of what my bike looks like at the moment.:niceone:

Not really to botherd about it for the moment Odin. Like I said I barely use it. might be something I do eventually though. Or be cheap and just keep my original key lol.

Heh one step closer but still 30 steps to go, and if I had any money my bike would have been fixed long ago so I know what you're feeling. I'm just lucky that my parents are willing to play loan shark (except much nicer and don't charge interest) just takes them awhile to agree to paying for parts. That's why I've been scouring ebay rather than just getting them from the shop.

How do you get your stuff shipped back, through friends/family still back there?

A bit of stuff comes up for my 250 ducati that I would like to get but a lot of people will only ship inside the .

My Dad and little brother are still over there cause my brother just finnished high school. (different than here he'll be going to uni when he gets here) They'll be comming down next month.

Have a sister in so-cal and could ask her if she would recieve it and ship it on but you would still have to pay the shipping. Also things with her tend to take a long time.

Anyway more good news on my front. Just got a headlight for my bike. Now just need the instramen cluster to get it up to condition that I wont be pulled over for not having a speedo.

Aint that off an XJ650 - I had one of those back in 81 but the previous owner removed it before sale. Hang on that is my locking chain. I demand it back right now :devil2:

WAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
As of this very moment I have an instrament cluster (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34284&item=4556908280&rd=1) for my bike. $142USD for the whole set wich would cost close to $1300 or so in NZD from the shop. I now have everything I need to make my bike WOF worthy once again. Unless a dented tank, though no leaks, is not passable but that might be taken care of soon.

Damn I gotta quite pulling all nighters to watch these auctions lol. Ohwell only one more thing to go and the next auction for that ends at noon today so it's sweet.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Hey, well done. It looks to be in pretty good shape too. Off an earlier model, with the black instrument faces - looks good!

I take it you'll get family to ship it out for you? Remember, you need to get the odometer wound back before it comes into NZ!

Nah my dad is packing all the parts up in a suit case I think. That way no duty or whatever gets paid. Hadn't even noticed it had black faces lol cool that means it won't be so bright shining in my eyes at night.:ride:

Also have a newish tank now. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4556810171) So I have everything I need all that needs to happen now is get them down here. Some one tried to snake it at the last moment cause it was onna close at $90. Ohwell still a good deal.

Gonna strip it or paint once it gets here and paint it myself. Maybe put some flames on it or something I don't know. Gonna see about doing the fenders aswell so everything matches. Also want to try and put some red LED lights under the tank that shine down on the engine at night.

Bikes gonna look so sweet when all this is done.:Punk:

Hehe yea mate, got my hammer and chissel all ready for it.

I wish it wasn't raining here. Would go for a ride to cambridge and back. Been up all night and all day so not too keen on a wet ride as my concentration levels may not be up to task. Ohwell tomorrow.

Well turns out my Dad wont be comming down till august so fonna call him tomorow and see about having them shipped down. Say another week and a half for all parts to get to him and then maybe 3 weeks for them to get here. Probably over estimating but can't hurt lol.

Just found out, my dad and little brother will be arriving in country on the 17th of this month. Wich means all my parts and my new helmet will be here on that day. And a good thing too considering my Rego and warrent run out on the 24th...

So HOT DAMN!! Now all I really do need is a job.
