After listening to the Rock this morning, they have basically declared themselves anti-bike, wanking on about how bikes have no right to park in carparks.
They then flared up plenty of pissed car drivers against bikers, reading out statements like 'I drive a 4x4 diesel and I pay $580 a year Rego, if I see a bike in the park i'll run it over', amoungst several others, which were read in favour of their arguments.
I think they deserve a lump of coal this weekend, if you were listening you would have to agree, it was extremely counter productive in regards to car and motorcyclist relations.......(you know what I mean).
Thanks
(p.s, yes I can see the irony after telling someone else to have a concrete milkshake the other day but this is waaaay different).
I also think we should really boycott the rock. As far as i'm concerned they just fucked us all the arse.
Also just to be clear, I know many of you hate the rock as a default anyway, but I prefer to listen to rock music. Lets face it, I either get hiphop/rap, with a little bit of pop shit, or dedicated hiphop/rap, or classical.....so it looks like i'll be updating the MP3 player as all the others don't play what I want to listen to, and Hauraki gets a bit too oldschool at times for me.

Ummm, I'm listening to it at the moment, and what you've just written is kinda skewed...
95% of the text supported bikes parking in car spots, and if you didn't take it personally you'd have realised it would have been a great opertunity to ring up and agree, stating we need more dedicated bike parks so we don't park in a car park and take up alot of room we don't need.
just my opinion

Your solution is highlighted. Dont listen to commercial radio. I have a LOT of music, and listen to Nat Rad when I listen to any radio at all.

Roger has had a whine for two days running. Serves the little perv right for having a car.
Bryce, to his credit, has put a good case in support of bikes parking in "vehicle" parking spaces.

Not the first part that I was listening to. All I heard was whining about how bikes daring to coexist and use car parks, and how dare they, and move them out of the way, and run them over etc....
I unfortunately could'nt sit and listen to it but there was generous support from three of the rock DJ's at the time......obviously I had no time to ring in or continue listening and posted purely from what i'd heard. Nothing taken personally, I took it as it was, an obvious loathing of bikers daring to take up a whole car park, and that they should'nt be allowed to park in them.
I mean, come-on, "should bikers be allowed to park in carparks?" That's a very influential question and anyone who has had to endure a stats paper would know that it would'nt be an appropriate question for research and is inflammatory from the start. So there. :bleh:

Ha, just watched an advert on TV. Wanagnui Race Week brought to you by The Rock, Kicks off on boxing day. Guess what event that is? I wonder if they'll park their 4x4's on the bikes that day?

My god.....have you seen the shit on the Facebook page?!
The Rock started that off......
I was'nt going to go to that event anyway, but I definitely won't be going to any Rock sponsored event at all now if I can avoid it (unfortunately all the good stuff is usually sponsored by the Rock so I highly doubt that'll stick!)
I'm just a bit pissed at the arrogance of some people really.
I should'nt and I definitely, definitely should know better, but it is hard to ignore....
Am I the only one this irritated by this or should I just lay off the roids'?

What about all of the useless blind prats who park in the dedicated motorcycle spots??
I see it ALL THE TIME where I live.
Funny how people only seem to ever focus on one side of the coin, aye?

Interesting.
The Rock sponsers Waikaraka Park Speedway - yes they have car racing, but they also have motorbike racing - solos and sidecars.....

Yup hauraki has definitely turned to shit recently, and thats why i was listening to the Rock this morning. Didn't think it was anti bike at all, just a bit of a laugh really.
The way I see the parking thing is that if I didn't have the bike i would be in the car so one carpark is taken up anyway.

Unfortunately at work I'm stuck in the middle of 3 stereos all playing the worst 3 stations in welly.... Hauraki, ZM and the Rock.
The unholy trinity of radio as it were. :(
The combination of the 3 shit stations all at the same time drives me nuts. :argh:
