Well, Gini's been looking at trademe again, and she's bought a King Size Queen Anne Headboard for our bed.
Trouble is, its in Auckland, and we're in Upper Hutt, at the bottom of the Rimutakas.
Any advice on the best way to get it here?

Why bother with a headboard? They just get dented.

Because SHE bought it. And SHE wants it. And if I want to get the opportunity to dent the bloody thing I'll humour her... ;)
now where's my helpful advice? Bugger off and troll someone elses posts...

Well, there's the obvious way of paying a freight company. Not sure how much it'd be. Otherwise, if someone with a large enough TRUCK was driving down, you could get someone to "hook you up" :niceone: Alternatively I could ride up there with you, and we could carry it back on both our bikes, resting on each tank, forming a highspeed table. Don't worry, I'm not daft, I'll bring wide load signs.
She's gonna be tricky to get down with little hassle.
You need to install TradeMeBlocker

Riffer: There's a Vic Club race meeting at Manfeild on Sat 25 June.
Perhaps one of the Auckland blokes (Two Smoker/Motoracer/Nicko???) might be able to bring it to Manfeild if you ask them nicely, and have someone like perhaps SVS bring it back to Kapiti for you, then you pick it up from there?
(We're taking the car but wouldn't be able to fit a queen sized headboard in)
Obviously it would need to be well wrapped/protected if it's being transported in a van/trailer with bikes/bike gear.
Just a thought.

Take it from an old bloke... If you are using friendly handcuffs you are missing the whole point...

The person she'd be using them on can slide out of them on their tightest setting, without any lube whatsoever.

Any advice on the best way to get it here?
A) Would Gini wait 2 weeks to get it
B) Would it fit in a Subaru Forester wagon?
C) Can anyone drop it off in Ngaruawahia
