So....a wee trickle of rain and saw exactly one handful of bikes over 2 days. 2 of these bikes being ridden by tourists. Practically had the Coro loop to myself. So much for the adventuring kiwi spirit.

Kiwi blokes becoming genteel new age men or what?

Too many people that only ride their bikes on sunny weekend days, keep them in garages their whole life, have to buy new batteries coz the old ones have been left so long and all their gear looks brand new.

Quite scary that the rain reveals just how many folks up the coro have diesel utes the piss fuel everywhere.

I went riding on sat, did 220km saw no bikes at all.

First semi decent wet ride on the TL handles good but had to be light on the throttle.

Good times, people in the BOP are soft. HTFU

At the moment, down here in Canterbury, I wonder what this "rain" that you speak of is.
The diesel does leave a nice, shiny iridescence, though...ooohhh, shiny!

reminds me of this time I stopped off at the vege store to do some shopping, on the bike, in the pouring rain. It was absolutely bucketing down. This dude in the carpark next to me jumps out and says as he passes me.... "it sux being you today doesn't it" lol..... before he had time to feel good about himself I said
(admittedly, without really thinking)

"it would suck to be you, every day"....... lol

that motorcycles melted in the rain. Besides Sable do you have CCTV in my garage cos I think you just described me. I ride, just dont get wet!

Coming from a country where we only have a 4-5 months riding season (Canada), rain isn't going to stop me. There will always be fair weather riders as long as motorcycles are viewed as luxuries and not a primary mode of transportation.

Come commute in Welly over the winter. That would show you that many kiwi blokes and blokettes ride all year around.

Because why ride in the rain when you can ride in the sun?
If it's rainy I'll get other shit done that needs doing and hold it off till it's sunny.
That way maximum enjoyment/productivity is achieved.

I have no problems riding in the rain. me and the boy went on the Maraetai loop today for a cobweb clearing blat and only saw one other bike on the road. Maybe that's because all the other poor buggers were at work :scooter:

There is no point to riding unless you can get your knee down:lol::lol:

It's weird riding in the rain atm, cos it aint cold like usual! just watch out for oil spots, puddles, be extra vigilant for smidsys, and it's quite fun :D

also, why isn't the op doing it properly and getting a knee down at the track on a bike he built in his shed from old bits of roofing iron and number 8 wire in 2 days. Hmmm?

you can do that in the rain ... problem is most idiots on here will also get their helmat , shoulder & other parts of the body down as well

If you get your knee down on the open road you are trying too hard to be a wanbee, if you don't get your knee down on the track you are not trying hard enough...

C'mon, bite ya fucker

Yeah, I have no friends as well.

I suppose you must teleport yourself to their house instead of riding?

Heh, from the poof who would rather ride on the road than race....

Blame Mastercard for that one.

Because why ride in the rain when you can ride in the sun?

It was the first free weekend I've had in ages. TBH, riding in the wet was far preferable to the blistering hot sun (and melted tar roads) we've had recently.

Riding in the wet isn't all that fun because I tend to take it really easy when the roads aren't dry.
