Does anyone else watch this programme? Wednesday nights @ 8.30pm.

I discovered it a few months ago (I don't really watch much tv so hadn't realised it was on earlier).

They play some good stuff....last night was "I Don't Like Mondays" by the Boomtown Rats. Boy, Bob Geldof was quite cute when he was young!! It's one of my favourite songs, brings back many memories....

I understand the song was written to reflect a real event in the US where a schoolgirl went beserk with a gun and killed a number of her classmates - when asked why she did it her reply was "I don't like Mondays". I presume she did her shooting rampage on a Monday. Anyone know anything more about it?

On another note, Headliners is playing clips of new/old videos in a "search for the best song ever" or something. I sometimes see a couple of minutes of it before the news (I tape One's news most nights). Promises "Baby It's You" is on this week's selection - now there's another great song. (Am I showing my age or what???)

Anyone remember the Tracey Ullman song titled something like "they don't know about us" which at the end of the video shows her in a car with Paul McCartney - apparently he's her cousin??? I don't remember the words much but I remember liking the song when it came out - must do a search on the net some time for the words.

I may be wrong but I always thought hump day was Wednesday cause it was the middle of the week, the hump day meaning the highest point of the "curve", it's all down hill from Wednesday mate! Could be wrong though! :ride:

Well done :niceone: It certainly is, and I think that it used to be pay day, ie: the day you could go and cash you chq at the bank, hence the ability to Drink and start the weekend off!

Or at least that was my reasoning when I was slightly younger and out there.

It was Mika who covered it. Video was seriously disturbing and very risque for NZ in 1980. Funny thing tho - I'm sure I heard WT singing it in the shower this morning which has me seriously worried about what he's been up to in the last 2 weeks while I've been back in Auckland!
