Socialite and reality TV ‘star’ Paris Hilton has launched her own 125cc team. The team, called “Super-Martxe VIP by Paris Hilton” will compete in the MotoGP 125cc category from 2011-2013 initially. Sergio Gadea will ride for the team in a move back from Moto2, performing in race colours of pink, white and blue.

Hilton, who was reported to say "I can't believe I have my own racing team! So cool!” has agreed to attend at least five races next season.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't have much interest in seeing a poorly shot, low quality nightvision video of her attempting to ride a MotoGP bike.

A well shot, high quality and well lit video of her completely screwing it up in various hilarious ways, on the other hand... now that would sell... probably even better than 1 Night in Paris, actually, given how much people hate her.

Gawd, that's actually a perfect match in my book.

I think it could actually be good for the sport having someone like her sponsoring a team. She'll turn up to the odd race, get some publicity and some people who've never seen a bike turn a wheel before, might sit and watch a race in the hope the daft cow gets some coverage.

Sort of reminds me of Pink and Carey Hart. He gets to showcase bikes at some of her shows (I was hoping she'd come over here as I'd have gone to her concert to watch him, like them Aussies got to do).

Ah well, be interesting to see what happens. It's always good to get new money into the sport, wherever the hell it comes from.
