am totally in love with it. as soon as i pulled out the driveway I felt at home on it. so comfortable and easy to ride. a few teething issues (namely damage caused in transit) which are being worked through, but overall AWESOMENESS.

Now just got to get big F-OFF security chain to secure it, larger givi box+rack and get it in for its 20k service.

have been reading the owners manual which is a bit of novelty to me, and learning how to clean the bike :p but just wanna ride it! auckland xmas traffic however is making that a bit tough. but just so happy to have it regardless!

What kind of damage caused in transit, exactly? Kinda curious.

EDIT: Bad of me not to say grats on the new bike! :D

yeah i feel that shame, its just the most practical thing for transporting laptop and books everyday to uni, plus gives me somewhere to leave helmet and jacket during the day. also i can remove for leisurely riding.

heck im trying to justify it but i know what you mean!

If you click the "Manage Attachments" button you can upload pictures, and the thumbnails will appear at the bottom of your post, which people can then click on to see fullsize.

some photos. one is of a scratch which has turned up since leaving nelson. nobody owned up, but transport company is making an insurance claim which is ok, still annoying that is happened at all though

EDIT: scratch = hua-ing great gouge in paint right back to the metal!

Think you may find I did most of the mileage. Pretty easy life minimum of 30km every ride mostly 6th gear open road, seemed happiest between 5k and 9k. Last service Street and Sport Chch had two oil and filter changes in the 12,000 km Mobil 4T in my care. Actually bought a topbox but could never put it on. Earlier picture minus the scrape, and just to show it is really a touring bike. Trust the last owner provided the history if not I can fill in any details you are interested in. Enjoy greatest bike for teaching me to ride better I have ridden, keep her upright and keep your license.

That scrape is definitely something rubbing back and forth over a period of time, used to courier used carparts and if you didnt have something between the loose pieces youd get that shaped scrape almost guaranteed. My *guess* would be a poorly placed strop.

yeah thats seems very feasible. i thought it may have had a bike next to it fall on it hard with the bar ends doing the damage, but as you say it looks like a constant rubbing injury

Nice ride. I've yet to bag a ride on one myself but they sure do get widespread approval from what I've read. Enjoy

Noice and a great choice. There is something about a triple motor that just gives me the giggles every time I fire it up. Enjoy!

They are very cool bikes. Stupidly easy to wheelie. I enjoyed the brief spin I took on one while I still lived in Auckland.

Congrats!

My black Striple will also be parked at Uni next year. If you see me come and say hi :) don't need a topbox for books though. Backpack is fine.
