Nine kilograms is a lot of mass, considering this family of bike has been developing for some time..

Saw the old and new GSXR 600 in the flesh at the Melbourne Expo, and they are really quite different. I'd have a 2011 in a flash if I wanted a proper sports bike.

My advice to you is, if you don't want a "proper" sports bike, DO NOT TAKE THE GIXXER OUT FOR A TEST RIDE. After your SV, it will turn your brain to smegma...(and DAMHIK)

That is my fear. At the moment the SV is great for commuting. I've got F1 raised clip ons, and the OEM lower seat, and it suits me to a 'T'.
