Planning on riding down to New Plymouth this Saturday to have a few beers. Any of the KB crowd down there interested in meeting up for a beer somewhere (or riding part of the way with me, but I'm on a GN250 so dont expect warp speed)

for a nice route, head out towards raglan from hamiltron on sh23, then somewhere on that road at a + intersection at whatawhata take a left down towards Otrahonga and New Plymouth, its a nice twisty route and has a bit less traffic and :Police: than sh3

Aye last time I went down I went out via the temple, and down through pirongia to otorohanga, and it was a nice piece of road.. Only problem is there is alot of up and down big hills on the southern part of it, and the poor old GN250 doesnt like big hills. I prefer twisty and windy flat bits :-) (awakino gorge and the area around mt messenger are always fun on the trip down to NP)

Weather forcast is rain for saturday. But anything could happen.

Have no road bike to meet you, but have a spare bed here if you need a stay over place?

Racey.

Yea, the forcast is crap for down here on Sat. If you end up down this way anyway, PM me and I can see what I'm up to on Sat night :niceone:

Getting these guys in one place at one time might be like herding cats. I'd be up for a beer or a coffee even.
Give Sensei and the others time to get home from work tonight

A bit of rain doesnt scare me (much  ), and I know how freaking cold in can get down in the 'naki.

Thanks for the offer RR, I'll be crashing at my mates place. Main reason I'm going down is to have a few belated beers for my birthday last month, and I figured if i'm having a few beers in the 'naki I mayswell try and meet up with the KB'ers down that way while I'm at it

Dang dude! I went down and back a couple of weeks back and would have postponed for the company. I did a 900km round trip (Its about 390km each way from memory). Awakino Gorge and Mt Messenger are better when you are leaving and coming back to Auckland, when you are nice and fresh!! lol!

I took my 87' FZR400 down and had a blast, got passed by most other bikes but she throws through the corners as good as anything out there...

Comparing the Naki weather to Hamilton is like comparing clay and poo...there is a difference....apparently. We don't get all day fog here, unlike those in Hamilton. Yes the temp can get a little low, but how invigorating is that fresh mountain air? Might be passing you on my way to Hamilton though during the weekend, all going well, to pick up my bike???

Gonna be here saturday? Know a guy who's having a get together at his place. Well starts at one then moves to the other.:devil2: Could use some help with the move.

You stayin the weekend up here or just picking it up then heading back?
