Thankfully I was driving the car at the time, but it sure made a hell of a thump on the windscreen.
I'd hate to hit one if I was on the SV!

i went to welly early this am and nearly collected a black and white sheepdog that was eating road kill in the middle of the road. didnt see a body anywhere coming home, so can only assume its still alive.

I hit a duck at 190kmh on a race track once in a cage. I would hate to think what could have happened if I was on the bike and it hit me in the chest at that speed.

i hit one of those extra large seagulls at 90kph it hit right in front of me on the windscreen of me cage, and i got a snapshot of its perfectly white fluffly round puckerhole forever burned into memory. it rolled over the top and carried on, flapping off a little wobbly.

I hit an Asian....
I nearly did, on Queen St, walking across the road looking the wrong way and listening to some gadget. I snuck up on him and blasted the air horn from about two feet away... gosh those little buggers can jump high! One of those things that keep you smiling eh

Couple months back I hit a spur-singed plover on the gixxer. It kinda hit the angle of the fairing. Quite a blow. No damage to me or bike. But the plover was fucked. It was still dead on the way home...took a bit of effort to get the spooge off the fairing too.

Hitting birds when on the bike can have some unforeseen consequences.
My other half caught a small bird fair in the chest when doing a good speed on her bike - it exploded in a cloud of dust and feathers. Only slightly winded she just carried on, but in less than a minute she was basically blinded by a severe allergic reaction - she could barely see to follow me as I tried to guide her to a safe place to pull off the road.
A couple of anti-histimine tablets and half an hour later, she was fine. But an unexpected result from a bird strike.

I hit a Hawk at 120 km/hr on a GS1000s once. It took out a wing mirror ... stayed upright but gave me an increased heartbeat rate for a few minutes ...

...minced a duck in my front disc earlier this year riding past a country pond...I intersected its landing path at 90 degrees, poor duck...on way home on same evening a magpie flew up off the road and somehow did a silly change of direction and turned into me, folded itself around my master cylinder and its guts and shit were spread the complete length of what was earlier a clean bike...worst sight Ive had was a fat drunk woodpigeon trying to get lift as it was following the centre-line on the road to the Hilltop...I was down to sixty or seventy ks when it did the big air brake thing, glanced off the top third of my helmet and fucking near took my head off...

I used to have a Demon cat, he dropped a live rat into the middle of our Christmas lunch one year. Amazing how fast a dozen people can scatter.
The real mess happened when he climbed through the living room window with a feisty, shit filled seagull & released it so we could be entertained by his wall running & matrix like prowess. Their was shit, feathers & finally blood from one end of the house t'other with a very happy looking ginger tom in the middle of it.
I loved that cat!

I've collided with a few feathered friends - one flush on the cheek in an open face at 80-90kph. Cracked my sunnies but otherwise no big deal. Not so for the bird however.

I hit one of those plover fuckers at 90/100mph at Tarras one day and after it demolished my wind screen it burst and covered my helmet with shit and guts! :shit:
That had to be the stinkingest shit that was ever made, took ages to wash it off too!

Remember my old dog finding a dead seagull at the beach and rolling in it - happy as a pig in the proberbial. Hubby has a very strong stomach but he was retching out the car window all the way home with the dog still happy as larry in the front with him. No one even wanted to bath him when they got home as we couldn't bear going anywhere near him due to the pong.
Never want to hit one while I'm riding!
