Spotted this while wandering around the pits and thought it worth sharing. Hope the owner doesn't mind.
I only had my phone as a camera and wasn't sure what quality the images would be so didn't take any close-ups of some unbelievably cool features. Like the tranny top cover for instance, made of perspex or similar and totally see through allowing all the gears and shift mech to be visible. The oil lines to the rocker covers were a work of art.
Stunning marriage of old and new in a perfectly useable machine. I want one!

I know that you ugly old bastard. However in my experiance some people get fucked off when you call their bike a bob when they were actually building a chop. Bit likle the whole "Nostalgia" and "Rat rod" confusion that ofetn occurs.
But yeah, it's fucken mint.

Hey Doug, I mentioned to Mick when I spied it that it might be yours as I remember you saying somewhere it was finished. Awesome piece of work man, you're one talented hair bear, that's for sure.
Keen to enlighten us to some of the specs?

If you asked Suga Bear... he'd call it just a short chop and then tell you to many people are chopping rear fenders and putting sprung seats and calling them bobbers when they arent.

Good work Doug.
Saw one of those 'out of the box' factory long bikes wobbling around the place yesterday with the typical overmonied overopinionated rider doing the whole look at me look at me thing...
Your ' built it meself' bike is in a different league man - unique and a billion times cooler.... (as usual)

Hmm, not being a grinch ('cos it IS great custom Doug!) - but I'd keep a wary eye on the copper oil-feed line for the rockers - I've had copper lines in similar situations work-harden and crack (normally just by the nut) due to the flexing/vibration (and a large H-D V-twin certainly causes a heap of that!).
And oil being pumped out of the split tends to make a bit of a mess....
Still, you've done a few miles and it seems OK so far.

Scumdog,if you look at the lines they have rubber each end,so shouldn't have a fracturing problem, and the rocker feed is coiled to give it a bit of "spring" I hope they don't fracture as I'm riding up to taupo tomorrow to watch my mate burt drag race his rail and the weather is looking good.

Yeah BIG DOUG, I noticed the rubber ends on the tank lines, it was just the rocker-feed ones I was voicing my concern about, hopefully the coils pay off....is there any flex in those lines at all?
If so (If it was MY bike!) I would look at anchoring the centre of the coil area to one of the fins somehow - but then I'm a worry wart. (cause by a history of 'Bad Experiences' (tm) )

DON'T NEED NO STINKING SUSPENSION,left taupo at 5pm only stopping for gas and a feed at 66 on 1 diner in foxton and sitting mostly on the speed limit home at 9.25pm not bad for a bike with no suspension now where's that chiropractors number lol.
