Wellington--Places for a kid to ride a PW80/jr80

Hey folks a question was asked about places for a 9 year old to ride around Wellington.
I havent a clue so i thought I'd ask the question.
The kid is a total newbee to riding with non rider parents.
Do you folks have a place for kids to go and ride?

Hutt - Riverside, esp the park area North of Moonshine Bridge
Porirua - Whitirea Park (North end of Titahi Bay)
Wgtn - Red Rocks past Owhiro Bay - technically meant to be licensed to ride here but doubt anyone'd worry too much
