Can someone explain the adjustments on my R6 up front. In particular the effect of adjusting the Preload, and Dampner. Does it make it corner better etc ?

Thanks

Try www.sportrider.com They have suggested settings for most bikes, got mine for my R6 off there & they got me in the ballpark so to speak.
You'll need to set up your static sag first, there'll be a thread here somewhere or google it.
R6 messagenet is good for all things R6...google it too.
Dem clickery bits make a difference:yes:

Its under maintenance section, there is a suspension sub section.

Irrespective the main point is likely that you need to service the suspension units. oil breaks down, parts wear. Those clickers & preload adjusters won't do anything useful if you have tired kit.

There is heaps of info on sites like Racetech on setting up suspension, but if your rear linkage is stiff from lack of grease munking the bearings & oil knackered & holding the shims open & springs that are say too soft (common yam forks) for your weight, then a freshen up is in order.

Ideally you then dig deep & buy some aftermarket bits & experience how good it can be, but a freshen up will get you 1/2 way there from tired.

The high speed compression adjuster in the front forks is a great device on that bike, once the base preload on it is shimmed properly. Give me a call daytime 06 7512100 and Ill elaborate.

Are you referring to the later forks, 06/07 ? I think the OP has an 02 model.
