Sigh, I was planning on keeping it forever, but since my accident and subsequent surgery along with the diagnosis of Osteoporosis, it seems my biking days may have come to a premature end. Therefore I reluctantly offer my beloved Boulevard for sale.
I bought it new in Feb. '07 and it's been serviced from new by Bikesport Helensville. Still on original tyres, brake pads and shoes, the rego is on hold and all it needs is registering from sale date, WoF and a service. It's a genuine NZ spec C50T with the accessories only the NZ one's got. Kentucky Drive bags, Givi backrest, screen and lightbar, all I've added are the excellent VA Lower Deflectors which vitually eliminate any buffetting and make all-day trips a pleasure. Last of the Gunmetal Grey colour, it looks fabtastic!
It's got room, comfort and performance and is arguably the best handling of all the cruisers bar none! Economical on fuel and all running costs it's been the best bike I've ever owned in 40 years of biking!
Negotiable in the sale is my genuine, unworn Suzuki Boulevard Leather Jacket, now a collector's item, valued originally at about $350, and our matching helmets with Blueant intercoms, not sure what they may be worth...

You'll regret selling it after your back has healed.

I'm going to regret selling it regardless! It's not just the healing up but the Osteo that's the problem. If I break my back again I might not be so lucky and my bone density scan was worrying to the surgeon who couldn't guarantee the success of the op. I'm on a special med for it but it'll take two or three years to get a 2 or 3% improvement in bone strength.
My surgeon said that this op was about the only chance I had and he probably couldn't do it again. He didn't see the funny side when I asked if I could ride the bike after he gave me clearance to take the body brace off... :innocent:

Once a biker... Who knows what the future holds eh..? I've had to rethink a few things since the op but I can't imagine not being involved in one way or the other with bikes and my biking friends.
We've still got the MX5 which is the closest you can get to a bike for fun on wheels, (well considering an Arial Atom is way out of the price range...:bye:)
I'm looking at boats now too...

They're pretty cool but a 3-wheeler is same as a car in my book, might as well drive the MX5. Nothing can replace a bike and give you the bike experience, I'm afraid... :bye:

Sorry to hear about your situation :( that SUX!
In saying that, would you be prepared to sell the helmets seperately? If so, what sizes are they? and how much would you want for them With the intercoms.

Thanks mate, yeah I'm pretty bummed about it. I know there are so many worse off than I am though - at least I'm alive and walking for which I am eternally grateful!
I think we paid about $800 all up for the two helmets and with the Blueant fitted, so they were really good value at the time! I'm not sure what they are worth, I can ring Cycletreads tomorrow where we bought them from and see what they say. Maybe a KB'r can give an opinion? They're in real good condition. Sizes are large and small, sorry I can't be more specific, they don't have a tag. Best to try them on.

 No....Not the Bike ED :bye:
So sorry to hear you have to part with her.....truly hope you find her a good home and that you get top dollar.
I was Reading somewhere that riding actually helps make bones denser (due to the vibration)....just a thought
Take care ED

Under normal circumstances that's essentially correct as low-impact exercise stimulates the ends of the bones which as where the additional strength comes from. Walking is the absolute best exercise there is for the human body as it does everything we need physically!
My problem means that I could fracture my back going over a sudden severe bump like a pothole that bottoms the suspension out, for example. Even a low speed 'off' could have serious consequences. Even the MX5 may not be the best for me yet though it is comfy enough by comparison. We'll see soon as I'll take it for a spin and see how good the suspension is.

If your mx5 is the next best thing, either treat it with the money you sell from the bike. i.e. new suspension and get it tuned to be more racey. I believe 'Mom' on here had a racey type of mx5. Or you could upgrade to a wee z3.
good luck

Thanks mate! Our MX5 has been slightly lowered and has aftermarket 15" alloys, Momo steering wheel and pedals, and front and rear spoiler's. It could do with new rear shocks now, but generally it's fabulous on the road with razor sharp steering! The Z3 isn't as good to drive, although the Z4 is better but of course when we got the MX5 for the bargain price we did, anything else is going to be way more expensive! Bang for buck, nothing comes close! :sunny:
I took it out today and it's comfy enough once down in it, but it is a long way back up again to get out of it...
If I do sell the bike, I've got my eye on a mini race boat with a 40hp Merc on the back. They're as much fun as a jetski but way cheaper to run! I've been offered one at a good price and it'll carry a passenger behind the driver. Unfortunately Mrs. Bear has ruled out putting more stress on the credit card and has insisted I sell something first... :innocent: Of course such a craft may not be the best for my back at the moment either but it's something the whole family can enjoy.

Backed it out this morning and started it up. I was going to clean it but my back's too sore at the mo... :bye:
Started instantly as usual and I thoroughly warmed it up before shutting it down. :( I'd be willing to put 3mths reg and a new WoF on it for the purchaser.
I've only found one C50T for sale with the same specs as mine so far, so as I said, this model is rarely for sale and you all know how I feel about mine! :crybaby:

Give this a bump for ya Ed.
Took mine in for a service and a warrant today. My choice to make it a bit of ride to my not so local dealer, and then took the long way home from there.
These bikes are mint, and this a good deal IMO.
In fact I think the best indication that this is a good deal, is that Crazy Steve never posted on this ad.

Thanks mate! I see it every day in the back of the garage under its dust cover and let out a sigh... :bye:
I started physio yesterday and I was shattered even though it seemed very little exercise at the time. However, and I haven't told the missus this yet....:innocent: he indicated that I would probably be able to ride again in time, though as he rated me 2 out of 10, (1 being paraplegic and 10 being able to do pretty much anything you want), and very fragile it's going to be several months before I can consider that. So I'm not very strong or fit as you can appreciate, so weak it scares me, actually.
I'm not too concerned then if it doesn't sell, so I'm not prepared to give it away, but as you say, I do think it's a good price and a good deal. I won't sell the gear before selling the bike though, as if the bike doesn't sell, I'd just have to buy more gear in a few months time.
Did I mention I love my bike and think it's the best bike I've ever owned or ridden...?
