Never did like Mikuni aircleaners

great carbs but the aircleaners look like a skoda hub cap from the 1960's

however S&S have great looking aircleaners that are easier to live with, and easier to take apart, clean filters etc

this was my first attempt at using the lathe to do milling operations

there is an aftermarket adpater available but its for a keihin CV carb and it doesn't fit the backing plate for the S&S b carb filter without modification

see attached photos of previous use of this adapter, note extensive filing around the top of hole in the backing plate to make it fit and the step where the adpater meets the carb

compared to my home brewed adpater that fits straight onto the backing plate and has a better flow where it meets the carb
