I've just noticed that the 'bush' (?) at the bottom of my Ohlins shock absorber has perished and disintegrated. Can these be easily replaced or am I looking at replacing the whole shock absorber? Bike is a 2001 Ducati Monster M400. Thanks for any advice.

It's a bush, of course it can be replaced.

Bring it round home, happy to have a look and see if it's actually fucked or not.

We're in Silverstream.

If eight year olds wanted their bikes worked on, I'd be in.

Seriously though, for that mechanical sort of shit I'm more than happy to have look and advise.

Being Ohlins wouldn't you just refer him to Kerry Dukie the suspension guru?

@ White trash - Cheers for that. Where in Silverstream? Can drop around tomorrow arvo if convenient.

Just checked the bike again and the shock is actually leaking (bluish oil). I think the problem might be more than just a bush. :shit:

Every part is available for your Ohlins shock. Won't be a biggie to get it serviced

Cheers Pussy. That's a relief as I was beginning to think it was going to cost big bucks (been looking online at new Ohlins shocks, saw the price and just about fell out of my tree!). This said I would willingly pay if there was no other option.

There is usually an ad for the NZ Ohlins agents on the KB home page.

Look up www.crownkiwi.co.nz, that should be what you are after. When it comes to Ohlins, Robert Taylor at CKT is one of the best in the world.
