Nick Smith pushes the ETS tax at every opportunity!
Is Nick Smith the drongo (political opportunist) most of us think he is?
This guy would seem to present a good case that he is!

Political opportunist... i didn't think there was any other kind :)
OMG that means all of the computer modelling, temperature collection, CO2 levels and other AGW foundation claims need to be scrapped... IF what Piers says is true, and monitoring the magnetic fields of sun (which encompasses Jupiter, which is BIG) and moon giving long term "disaster" prediction is more accurate than every other computer model generated to date...
To be fair to Nick, :killingme, he does need to replace the funding for NZ scientists, with AGW now being utterly busted... it may as well be the Emissions Trading Scam instead...

Come on guys. Give Nick a break.
He instituted the ETS in July to stop Global warming, and it worked. Since July the temperature has started to plummet. The latest data on both UAH and RSS show that if the temperature keeps falling at the present rate then all claimed warming since 1980 will be wiped out within one month.
What other tax has ever had such a profound and immediate effect? We know that it is our ETS that has resulted in this drop in temerature because no other country in the world has instituted such a tax as New Zealand.

Really - NASA’s Arctic oscillations map for December 3-10 shows that parts of Baffin Island and central Greenland were 15 degrees warmer than the average for 2002 to 2009 and the temperatures in Northern Canada and Siberia were between two and ten degrees higher than usual.
According to NASA’s datasets, the world has just experienced the warmest January-November since the global record began, 131 years ago. 2010 looks likely to be either the hottest or the equal hottest year. This November was the warmest on record.
When someone like Nick Smith is pushing the ETS - you just know it's got to be full of fish hooks - a thinly disguised subsidy for farmers and industry, paid for by the taxpayer......!
