Since we've done our Sth trip for the summer we won't be able to make this one :bye:
But, I strongly recommend this to anybody, It's a great laid back social weekend in the middle of some awesome riding country, roads & tracks to suit all tastes. If you are planning a summer tour down that way definitely schedule it so you can make the Rally.
Cheers

I was pretty keen to come, but a few things at work are conspiring against me this year.... Pissed off, but my bike is still in Christchurch, but needs moving back to Hamilton this weekend, so I am sure I can find some detours on the way. Will certainly make an effort for next year, as I have a few places I am keen to see down that way, and I am too much of a wuss to do them in winter.
Have fun all.

Greetings gruvers, sorry for the late reply, just had the 5 day Round The Block with the WMC, 2400 km in 5 days, wot a blast.
We got pissed on, blown, baked and blasted ..
So, Dust To Mavora fukengruven rally, we had great weather, great food, great mates, great riding and all in all a bloody good fun time.
Didn't bin the bike but had a coupla moments, we rode on Friday from Wanaka - Queesntown - Kingston - Five Rivers - Mossburn, Southern Mavora entrance - Mavora Lodge
HUGE feed of venison and assorted salads etc, ate like Kings and Queens.
After monsta breaky on Saturday morning four soldiers rumbled off to the South Arm of Manapouri, we also turned off and went to the pylons road to Percy Saddle.
330km in the saddle and great day with stunning weatehr was had by all, that place is truly stunning and certainly makes you appreciate what we have access to.
Saturday night consisted of piss drinking and lie telling after a monsta bar b q etc, shite was talked till about 1.00 am, good giggles all round.
Sunday we all packed up, we rode into the Mavora Lakes then back out, down the Von Valley to Mt Nicholas then over to Walter Peak to catch the TSS Earnslaw over to Queenstown then back home to Wanaka.
Thanks to Toddy for a great rally, will be there again next year although there was chatter about bringing it further norf ...

So you went to the head of the Mararoa, see the solar powered toilet?
Up the Widen burn to The Forks Huts is fun but bloody lumpy.
Look forward to some pics.
