View Full Version : A new political party

There have been questions asked on KB many times about a political party friendly to motorcyclists, how much voting power we hold as a group etc.
There is now a new political being formed which appears to be aimed at improving democracy and representation, but is open to ideas on other policies as well. It is so new that so far only has a few members, not even enough to be registered. This may be the opportunity for motorcyclists to get in on the ground floor and start shaping policy.
They have a forum where ideas can be put forward, and they seem to be open to fresh debate. There is not much of any substance there yet, so this may be the place to visit and start political discussions, particularly relating to ACC, traffic rules etc.

I've no idea. But does it even matter? With only 5 members so far and no party structure as yet, this is an opportunity to shape a new party from the beginning.
I have registered to its forum, but not signed up as a party member yet.

And ditch the black singlet!
Staring dreamily at the freshly shorn sheep ... whatever made him think that was a good photograph?
'Course, one of my earlier bosses reminded me that most people out there looking like they'd lost an argument with a cement mixer filled with hairgel got out of bed, went through the morning ritual and had a last mirror check where they must've though "Damn, I look GOOD!"
As to a new political party? Meh. NZ runs at it's best when the government is on holiday.

From what I can see, they do have a good message overall, ie, we are all sick and tired of being lied to by bastard pollies, the unjust way commerce is undertaken, the normal folk not having a fair go and all that kind of malarky.
It is a message that a lot of people in the pubs, cossie clubs and RSA's all over this great nation would say "fair nuff, good on 'em" over a beer or 6.
But how effective can they be..??
I admire them for getting out there, at least they are doing something. At this stage the forums are very much toe in the water stuff, they are looking for ideas.
Best of luck to them I say, you simply never know. I mean, look at Lech Walesa in Poland, geezer was a sparky but he rarked up enough bodies to change the political landscape of that country and pull them out of the regime they were in.
My point is that you can never rubbich or under estimate anyone with a message that the people of this country would get with. Our enemy, as with everything, is apathy I suppose

Hope not. I was kinda hoping someone might have driven a stake through whichever bits it takes to keep them down.

Anything that makes me change browser to see it doesn't work, by my definition.
No I had not seen the site fully when I posted. I now have. Looking past the terrible use of language and the fontcrime, I have some further observations:
1. I know it's early days but their policies are pretty vague.
2. I'd be interested to hear their detailed ideas on fairness. (And how many here would agree with them).
3. It's great being responsive to member input but what do they actually stand for? What are their base values? What's non-negotiable?
4. Why would I give them (rather than, say, a passing Nigerian scammer) my money?
And...
Colours are green and red, talk of eco friendly homes and energy independence and they're not being decried here as "watermelons"? :)

Well, thats the manifesto sorted, all we need now is 500 bourbon and beer swilling pyromaniacs who like Metallica and talk bollocks about how well they can ride a bike...
Thats pretty much all of West Auckland so we have pissed it....

I can only see the landing page, and can't move on. After reading the quote below though I am quite intrigued as to how this primary school project is going to turn out.
If you have any idea's for policie's with regards to how you think that New Zealand can be improved please submit them..

didn't rubbich win the 86 Hungarian election?
Lech the lechtrician , just stood at the end of the road by the big Green transformer and said vote for me
or else
Apathy is of course the main enemy as it the division of the community, as sad as it sounds we need a community driven ..( union?) party , Grey power with a large voting block to lead the way
though I was thinking the other day ,
we owe money off shore , and even if all kiwis save , I doubt that would be enough to finance the debt ....
therefore exports need to have more value added , and the prime exports we have are sheep and cows , the milk side did well but unless we find a niche , or niches
you could vote a blind one-legged baboon that has predominant office space in the The Dept of Circumlocution
and not a lot will change
The only hope is a party that has SOME sort of social conscience
Stephen
IMHO of course

And most of Christchurch and all of Hamilton.
the Biker Party could have an offshoot who listen to Muse and My Chemical Romance while clustered around their new 1198s, Harleys and Aprilia RSV4s sipping Pinot and Lattes that cater for central Auckland and Wellington.
Me, I'd rather listen to Muddy Waters and Howling Wolf, but then I ride a Triumph, so being stuck in the past is not a point for debate.

As you are a recent migrant to NZ I will explain......The Kiwi way is to sit on your arse and do nothing and complain.
When someone does get off their arse to do something you tear it to pieces.
Then you go back to sitting on your arse and doing nothing and complaining..
It alleviates any feelings of inadequacy
