Hey guys, I am looking to buy a good learners bike for as cheap as possible. My family isn't really into bikes, but my uncle is and about 1 year ago he got me into it. I bought a Suzuki GN250 which I had been told was a good learners bike. However I didn't really enjoy it and it ended up sitting in the garage until I recently sold it. However now I really would like to get back into biking. And just wondering if anyone is selling or knows where I can look for a cheap for around 1100-200 dollars. I don't mind a scooter or a bike. Just looking for something a bit more sporty than a GN250 but not incredibly fast. Cheers.

Thanks anyways.Any half decent bike selling for 1200 is generally going to need money spent on it. Not always the case as you may stumble across a bargain. Best thing is to save up a bit.

If your mechanically minded this could be a good deal http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Motorbikes/Sports/auction-345753118.htm

i reckon you'd spend close to the 800 bux getting the zzr up to scratch

beg or borrow the extra $ for the gpx, looks like a decent deal

Yeah i wouldn't have a clue to do mechanically, so yeah i'm guessing that the best option would be to just save up a bit more before and look again. Unless a bargain comes up. Could you possibly tell me what sort of bikes to look for. something that is sporty but not incredibly fast. cheers!

GN250 was a single. 4 cylinder 250s are fast and fairly expensive.

When it comes to twins you have the following:
Honda VTR 250
Kawasaki GPX 250 (including the new ninja 250)
Hyosung 250's
Suzuki GSX 250 (not the GSXR)

And thats all i can think of.
