This afternoon saw the delivery of a shiny (ish) new addition to the family in the shape of this '01 example with 27k on the clock, bought from the Mount and delivered by Biketranz.

As always when buying site unseen (I did get the bike checked out by a fellow KB'er) there is the odd unpleasant surprise, in this case a pretty shite piece of re-spray where it has been dropped. It is cosmeticlly not as nice as the one I bought for D in July last year, but on the other hand it was $1250 cheaper and is mechanically A1. So now the battle commences to get it ready for DB1K11.:scooter:

Incidentally, I have had an expression of interest in the faithful old blue 'Alp, but if this individual chooses to pass the opportunity up it will be for sale in late Feb for around 2k.

Loving the deadbolt on the door!

Keeps the nasties out :msn-wink:

Actually, the wind is so strong it blew the door in once so I added the brace with padbolts at the bottom on each side.

Have to guard our treasures.

Jealous. Mind you, if I had more space I'd have to get more bikes to put in it. It's an annex of Parkinson's first law, I guess.

Booo. OK you other fullas, open season begins February.
I discovered crash damage hiding on the other side of my new baby today . The previous owner was a real estate agent, I bet he has sold a few people 'bargains'. Still chuffed because it goes so well, and the damage is only skin deep.

I discovered that what I thought were a couple of scratches in the fairing on mine are actually cracks - skin deep but skin is still expensive .

Do you reckon it's worth getting these plastic welded to stop the crack getting worse or is it a waste of time? Cosmetically you don't see them unless you look really close but they definitely go right through

From my experience you are unlikely to weld without having to repaint. The cracks probably won't grow unless they are in a stressed area.

Just my opinion from my experience.

Cheers

If you are riding any roads other than seal then prolly best to get them welded. The vibes will gradually open the cracks further and further. This happened to my CBR 250 even though it rarely went off road. It was a pretty vibey machine, mind.
I am wondering whether to ditch at least one of my panels and get a new or AM replacement, as the mounting lugs are all shorn as well. C'est la vie....
