well check this out, the pic is about 10yrs old the bike has been in Two Wheels about 8yrs ago...... man thats a bike.
Lucky, a bush-mechanic from Central Australia and the guy behind the bike, built his idea of the ultimate V-twin. He started with the front two cylinders from a Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 engine that he found in an abandoned P-51 Mustang fighter plane. He mated his new 5.0-liter twin engine to a Holden 3-speed transaxle from a popular car in Australia. Note the Roots blower and Nitrous injection!

Hell no, don't encourage him. He started with a V12. He's still got 10 cylinders left.I don't want to think about a 20 litre version.

Didn't NZ have a parrallel twin made from Rolls Royce Merlin engine? or was it a east west configuration like the motoguzzi?
I'm sure I've seen pictures of one in my uncle's coffee-book.

How heavy would you estimate that bike to be?

But why on earth would you want a 5 litre bike? Does it go any faster than a 600cc?

The p51 engine was a Rolls Royce Merlin so probably the same bike?

I don't see a radiator big enough to cool that thing (or any radiator actually), so I'm guessing it's total loss cooling. So it's a drag bike only - but not the normal configuration for a draggie. Trailer queen, much ?
Yeah, remember when it was first pictured, wonder if its still around and running?

I saw that bike at a bike show in Townsville, (Qld) around about 1988. I still remember the sound, very cool.
