Ardmore is a good place to start for practice,
if you want to start racing the Mr motorcycles funday MX that are in april/may are a very good place to start as well, also if Tony runs his good times scrambles again they will be awesome, also power adventures run some mx as well,
Ken Fells in Kaukapakapa runs some good racing on an easier track as well,
next step up is the Pukekohe Club, they race at Harrisville in summer, and mercer in winter, i would not reccomend going to Harrisville practice days until you have some experince on other tracks,
websites,
www.mrmotorcycles.co.nz Mr Motorcycles MX Series,
www.thesandpit.co.nz Good times Scramble (Not sure if its on again Tony??)
www.fellsfarmmx.co.nz for Ken Fells,
www.pukemx.com, Pukekohe MCC,

Yep ardmore is def a good place to get into it. Open for wed practice and club days on every 2nd sunday. I'm in elerslie and call it my local.
Ken fells as mentioned are a fantastic day out (however it is a day out, lots of waiting in between races due to them running so many classes which can be a bit stink but the track terrain is a heap of fun).
Harrisville is an amazing track but fairly daunting to the less confident rider. I've been riding for a few years and have only ridden harrisville enough times I could prob count on one hand. large jumps you have to commit to but all of which have nice long landing ramps so as long you are commited its fine.
I'm no longer working saturdays so will be hitting harrisville more this year.
Good luck in this sport mate, so much fun
