Cheers for all the help today guys, I'm a reasonably shithouse mechanic so it was cool to get some help with my brakes and throttle cable (cheers Rich).

Damn, broken my wrist into 3 pieces and was just pushing its way through the skin. At home in a cast after a pretty nasty procedure (didn't hurt with all the drugs they put into my arm) where they smash everything into place while I'm awake. Very likely I will be heading back in soon for some surgery.

As for the crash, I am a little unsure. I don't remember my peg grabbing onto the apex, but I guess it's the likely story. I had a slide there on the second lap though on cold tires, and the whole race was a little wild with sliding the rear out of most fast corners. I think I need to set the bike up better and find a different way of riding out of corners because it was sliding far too much.

6 months healing time at the moment, shit. Sorry for disrupting the race. Besides the sliding I was having a lot of fun. My bike has certainly stepped up in speed.

That was a mean crash Hamish, definitely some decent airtime and summersault action! We had a front row seat in the stands right on that corner and I was surprised to see you up, even onto your knees.

Oh, on a brighter note....
What a fooking mint day of racing!
The wind was a little overwhelming at times, kept picking me up mid corner and just about made me highside several times and instead of being helpful and helping to push me up the straight instead kept making my frontend shake a little violently.
A massive turnout of bikes, awesome to see so many new faces and buckets there today! Hope you heal up well too Brock! :hug:

Was a fantastic day of racing. Wished I was riding from the moment we got there. Even though I didn't ride I had a great day. With such big fields, the racing was great to watch!! Some great battles going on all over the place. Long may numbers like that last!!!!

Was really cool seeing heaps of newbies out there too. Esp my neighbour Dale (on the blue gp125, #113) he kicked butt today seeming it was his second go racing.

Mend fast those who hurt themselves!! Next time Hamish, try and land ON the grass...not somersault over it and land on concrete again! Spectacular bro!! But at an unfortunate cost.

It is retarded amounts of fun. Punting the shared cb125 #15 around at the back of the A grades, some choice racing with Malcolm, was in front of him in the first race then decided to take a lie down on the track on the second to last turn of the race..

But it was a great day for racing. I was slow as in practice & first race, but slowly getting my head around it. Young Caleb started to give me the learnup so that sped me up a bit, as did following Sully, so thanks guys, it helped me out.

Good to have so many bikes there and extra special to get both my brother and my nephew out on my bike in the B grade.

It was the first time racing for both of them and they each got a 2nd placing and had a great time.

Was thinking we should all have compulsory counselling to control the "red mist" instead of a practice session though. There was some incredibly close, competitive racing in both grades, with quite a bit of impromptu motor cross and really too many spills.

Not sure what you mean there.

But yes with that many new people it is probably a good idea to have some rider education, I was thinking more along the lines of put your hand up when exiting & how to flag marshal & share that responsibility.

Beyond that one can only say no dodgems, but racing incidents do happen & gravity & momentum are harsh mistresses. That bit sucks 'cause it can really affect your life for quite some time.

Great work to the organisers, this sort of event is great for the sport when we get the numbers to justify our existence with the kart club rather than the 3 or so turning up if it is wet.

I'm keen or some of training time on the track. Would it be possible to organize a Sunday session for that purpose?

Thanks to everyone else who helped me. If wasn't for all your generosity Buckets wouldn't be nearly as much fun. Sorry about the mix up at the end of the day.

Apart from the engine on Zensen throwing a wobbly I had a fantastic day. By the time I got home I was completely wiped out and slept for 14 hours. If the oil is anything to go by the engine internals are going to be messy.

It was great to see so many newbie's. Well done to Logan for finishing each race, at the rate your going you'll be emulating Caleb very soon.

The cylinder wall has a nice groove up one side. One of the brass bushes has completely disappeared. One of the aluminum bullets is missing and the other is all out of shape. The noise I was hearing was a very bad case of piston slap. So good lesson learnt, and time to grease up to my beautiful wonderful other half.

The gudgeon pin hole diameter in the 125cc conrod is smaller than the diameter of the 150cc piston. The 150cc piston was fitted with brass bushes to make is the same diameter as the 125cc gudgeon. The 125cc gudgeon pin was fitted with aluminum bullets to make is the right length for the 150cc piston.

Great theory. This is done in drag vehicles as the piston circlips don't handle the pressures involved. So it was worth a try. The fault is more with me for not checking them after Taupo. I checked them before Taupo and everything seemed OK.

Thanks for help it was very much appreciated.

I'm trying to get hold of a CBR150 crankshaft, which should fit straight in, replacing 125 crankshaft and also fit a new piston. I agree brass was probably not the best choice, but live and learn. The groove in the cylinder wall is quite a nasty one. I was surprise the engine was still running considering what I found when I pulled it apart.
