Go to google, type in 30mph to kph and it will display the answer as the first result. You can convert anything in this manner on google. PSI to PA. Watts to jps, joules to calories, etc etc etc...

One kilometer is 5/8 'ths of a mile ...
Therefore Km's to mile is multply by five, then divide by eight.
Miles to km's ...
multiply by eight and then divide by five.
easy ...

Google has heaps of different conversions built in. Try typing in:
2 miles to km
And you'll see how easy it is.

This is the info on the Google calculator:

About 4 down it talks about the unit conversions.

Gahh! The abbreviation for kilometre is km. The abbreviation for kilometres (plural) is also km.
In case nobody has noticed, this is something else that really annoys the BDOTGNZA.
Particularly the gram. The abbreviation for that is g. Not gm. And the same deal noted for plurals also applies here.
Is this stuff not taught in schools any more?

1 km = 5/8 of a mile.
Not much help if you are in the 3/4 of people who have trouble with fractions. :bleh:

Yes it is still taught. Trouble is, little Johnny has his IPod plugged in and is texting little Jenny on his IPhone, so doesn't learn it.

Km x 1.6092 = Miles.
Miles divided by 1.6092 = Km.

And whose responsibility is it to ensure the students are paying attention in class? Not the same people that are, gosh, demanding pay increases?
And that's how to really to take a topic off, ah, topic.
(Oh yeah you can't text from an iPod, sheesh.)

I was taught in ms, i mean m's, i mean miles... can km be apostrophosized (snigger) for clarity purposes when pluralised, or is this also frowned upon? just askin like, dinnae shoot.
