A big thanks to everyone at Wgtn Motorcycles especially Barry and Pete for the Suzuki demo day. Took the opportunity to test ride a couple of bikes I would not normally get a chance to ride, the M109R and the Hayabusa...talk about extreme opposites.
The M109R is a very interesting cruiser to ride and quite different from my 03 Harley Softail I used to own. Very nice to ride, lots of usable power and handles like a dream. Would I buy one? If I was looking at a cruiser again, it would have to be on the list.
The Hayabusa........Before leaving I had Barry's words in my ears "See if you can rev it 8000 in any gear without screaming"..A ride through the city onto the motorway and around the Paremata inlet, Haywards Hill and back down SH2 to Wgtn confirmed this bike is indeed a special beast..so easy to ride in town and then a raging monster if you twist your right hand even a little..so much power, so smooth, so easy to corner. I can see that any fool trying to drag you off the lights would be dust like taking a machine gun to a knife fight is how I described it to Pete this morning. Would I buy one? If I didnt want to take too much luggage away (read for the pillion) I would have one of these in a heart beat. Even then it will be on the list to be considered when it comes time to replace the magnificent Uly.
Once again thnaks guys..a real treat and I recommend that you take the chance to ride these bikes at your local dealer when the demo fleet comes to you. As Pete said, everyone should experience riding a Hayabusa once in their lifetime.
Did I listen to Barry's words? At 6000 rpm in top gear i was as close to God as I wanted to get today so wimped out..holy cr$p that bike can move.....
