So, I had my spank back in May, cops investigated and found me not at fault. Origionally the twat that hit me was getting done for failing to give way but it was pursued until the charge was increased to dangerous driving causing injury.

Anyway, blood sucking bastard insurance company didnt pay out on my gear (a fight I am still fighting) and my wankers of emloyers at the time cut me no slack on my wages (thanks a lot you pack of cunts) so I found myself out of pocket to the tune of a couple of grand.

Anyway, twat goes to court last year and is found guilty, gets diversion and today I get a call from the courts to say that my reparation cheque is on the way.

Fucking result I reckon. The motorcyclist was not at fault in any way, shape or form. Better still:

1 - the cops fought my corner
2 - the twat will feel it in the pocket
3 - proved to me again that insurance companies are out to screw motorcyclists
4 - The two stooges who were my bosses at the time are a pair of cunts, you know who you are

but best of all....

5 - there will be a road user who, after the amount of shite they have had to do and pay out for, will look twice for bikers in future.

Yes its sad that a fat bastard had to be upended in the street on a cold morning, but I am stoked all up that this has been the outcome.

Just be safe out there kiddywinks, other road users need to look twice but make sure you do the same and give yourself every chance.

Oh, did I mention that my ex employers are a pair of cunts by the way....???

Not sure it I picked up on that, you obviously LOVE your insurance company though :psst:

Good result FM. It is nice to see that us bikers are legitimate road users in some eyes at least.

Its about time the courts started awarding reparation more often, so if the offender defaults, its up to the courts to chase it up.

The civil system is crap.

Yeah gear ws covered but only to something fuked like 15% of the value because these robbing, slimey scumbags designate protective equipment for motorcyclists as 'Sports Equipment'. I have been requesting a copy of the policy definitions but they cant seem to find them or whatever.

Granted theer are better insurance policies for bikers out there, know that now but still, come on....

Anyway, got some cash back, even the shortfall in wages because my employers at the time were / are a pack of robbing shit arsed bastards......did I mention that..??

For some funny reason I get the feeling you're not completely enamoured with your former employers, just can't quite out a finger on it yet, but I'm sure it'll come to me...

Just off the top of my head... this wouldn't be the ASB Bank per chance???

Dont even begin to talk about them as an insurer. Just try making a claim after being burgled. I got told I had rung them after hours to give them a file number from the cops when I queried why my claim had not been settled (apparently I had not advised them the file number). I was less than impressed, and told them as much. How can you ring after hours when you have called their 24/7 0800 number that is in big bold font on the front of the folder that they sent you with the policy documents? I could go on...

We've just switched everything to Westpac, who use Lumley's. I've never heard anything bad about them and they saved a few hundy off our insurance bill. I still left my bike with John Baker though as you do need a company doing bike insurance, like JB, Kiwibike or Classic Cover to get the cost reasonable. I must say I haven't heard anything bad about any bike insurance specialist company either.

Well, I guess I'm a bit slow on the uptake these days... :third: I can recommend Kiwibike for a try, they were very nice to talk to with a good reputation and were I keeping my bike would probably switch to them now Tim's gone from JB.

So, I had my spank back in May, cops investigated and found me not at fault.

The preview of this thread on the forum main page... Why did I read it that you had had your spank bank investigated by the cops....... Was really wondering why you would announce that publicly

And you forgot to mention if your employers at the time looked after you alright?

Can you elaborate on this? Did they deny you something that you were legally entitled to?

I've got my bike with lumley, they were the best deal all round IF I put my other insurance with them :msn-wink:

I put the insurance of the bike as a deciding factor on wether i'd take the rest of the deal & they came to the party :niceone:

:msn-wink: sorry for editing your post like that :bleh: I'd have thought you'd get lots of "spank"!

Nah, seriously it's good to hear that there has been a positive outcome from the whole thing. Sad that some motorists have to put another through something like this before they wake up and take notice of who they're sharing the road with.

p.s. you missed a great feed tonight out at Patumahoe yum yum!
