It's a sad day, the faithful Dakar now needs to go!
For images, see TradeMe (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=347512442), but in the meantime, the key info is below....
Adventure riding is the very best way to see NZ! Follow the gravel roads and go where other two wheelers only dream!
I have owned this bike for about 4 years, and in that time we've travelled from Bluff to Cape Reinga, and everywhere in between, on various adventures.
This Dakar is an honest bike and a reliable machine, but I have plans to upgrade to a 1200GS as my wife now wishes to join me on future adventures: the 650 simply is not big enough for 2 up riding plus luggage.
Travelling on gravel has left a few stone chip marks and luggage strapped across the pillion seat has rubbed a signature on some of the plastic trim, but it is all cosmetic.
Recent maintenance/service (at 35,000kms):
- Oil and Filter
- Air Filter
- Fork seals
- Rear Tyre: Mitas E09
- Front Tyre: Continental TKC 80
- Throttle Cable
- Clutch Sensor
Extras over standard:
- Low seat
- Fork Gaiters
- Handlebar risers (25mm)
- Wunderlich centre stand
- Scott Oiler
- Frame Rubbing protector
- Extended Tip Iridium Spark Plug (DPR8EIX-9) ensures smooth running
WoF: May 2011
Rego: Feb 2011
