I have every intention of going to the meeting on Feb 5/6. At the moment I'm going on my own in the Legnum towing a trailer with the bike on it. Leaving early Sat and coming back Sun night or Mon morning.

Anyone else who would like to race PM me and perhaps we can sort out something.

Any Aucklanders who have never been to Roys Hill should seriously consider this. It's an awesome track and a top bunch of folks.

Ditto to Henk's observation. On the Saturday is hopefully a trailride. We're heading down for that and buckets on the Sunday, so will be full up.
I like riding C grade down there (funny, I turn up, they run C grade, I'd almost get a complex about that if I didn't realise that I'm more than likely the reason it happens on the day - sorry folk, but I like trying? to chase Nigel down with lack of real traffic).

I went, I saw, I conquered! Well I conquered the second B grade race mistaking it for the start of the free-for-all at the end of the meeting. Sorry about that to anyone I upset.

What an awesome track. I'm really glad I made the trip. Had plenty of riders to dice with and as I said the track is great with the sort of corners where you can really pitch her in and get on the power. It was a bit warm though, 36 today according to my car.

Friendly crowd as well, as expected of bucket racers. I turned up with no accomodation arranged and within minutes it was all sorted. Had a dip in the pool, drank a few beers, ate a great bbq dinner, and drank a few more beers before hitting the sack for a good night sleep. Mucho thanks to Grant and family. Your hospitality made the weekend most enjoyable.

I'm not going to let you win next time Grant.:innocent:

Race 2 B Grade, it actually looks like my young fella is going to poke his front wheel up the inside:facepalm:
You are right about the heat, my car was reading 36 deg when I left the track, dropped to 34 by the time I got home. Pool was 29 deg, had to put the garden hose in to cool it down. Good weekend, although down on numbers a bit.

Was good fun catching up and trying to get past that green bullet in race 2, till the back end come around, been a while since ive hit the deck. What happened in race 1 you Speedpro?

Bloody hot day, tyres getting really hot, and if only I had more time to get phase 1 completely ready(carb running rubbish), now will phase 2 be ready in time for round two...

I measured Tylers tyres temps, 55 front and 62 rear, a good 10 to 15 degrees hotter than at TRRS practice day

Ditto, some good pics. Had Taumaranui weekend all organised, then the competition that we sponsor was brought forward a week to same weekend so will be in P North Friday nite, Masterton Sat nite. Could drive from Masterton to Taumaranui early Sunday morning for racing, depends on start time. Maybe get a HB bucketer to cart my bike and gear over? Any details anywhere, anyone?

It would have been safer in the race class rather than with many slow riders on fast bikes in the medium speed class, I think.

I'll be back in action as soon as I'm race fit :).

Yes, a black-haired lady with soft hands :) - very helpful. Outside of turn 7 (I was riding around the outside of a rider who decided to go very wide!). I should have waited!

My hand was just bruised. I'm not taking the painkillers so that's a good sign. I can even type with both hands without pain :).

Not sure, I had pretty bad head injuries along with it so I'm a bit hazy on the whole thing.

Dunno what grade it was but .... Shit, you may not want to read the rest of this....

It took months to be able to lift my arm higher than horizontal, I could ride sooner but it really wasn't easy. I also borrowed a TR50 coz I couldn't use a clutch due to my thumb not functioning (seperate injury).

Hehehe just remembered that was a real challenge but catching the bus for a second time wasn't an option after the first!

It still moves around alot and sort of clunks around and sits in different places, I think there are also some bits of joint floating about in there and sleeping on it the wrong way can really put it out. It mostly doesn't hurt and I can do most things most of the time but when it is hurting it really does hurt.

Mine is a clean separation with no bad bruising. My head hit the ground also but that never caused me a problem (landed on it a few times - never an issue! :)).

I've taken my sling off already and doing a few arm dangling exercises (ideas from YouTube :)). Yours was nasty. I think mine is healing well - not much pain if I'm careful with it.

Good to hear, while some exercise helps don't push it too hard!

I had mechanical ineptitude problems at Taumarunui last year.
I assume you are going to be off the bike for a fair while. Doubt you'll make Tokoroa somehow. Heal fast, the more bikes on track the more fun there is to be had.

I'm feeling better every day. When I can do a dirt-bike ride, like Thundercross, then I'll know I'm ready. I'm keen/hoping to be ready for Tokoroa :) and Kaitoke at Easter :).

$20 Day Licence

Bikes must conform to MNZ regulations and excessively loud machines will be excluded at the discretion of the race officials at any time.

mar 12/13

1.) MNZ rules for competition motorcycles.
These are non negotiable, lock wired sump plugs, catch bottles for crankcase breather, carb overflow hose, fuel tank breather, and coolant overflow for
the water cooled bikes.
Spin on oil filters to be secured with a hose clip or similar.

Applies to all Buckets and Motards

Please note MNZ rules 34.2.4 through to 34.3 regards Motards. ( 500cc min
size catch bottle, no glycol coolant, lock wire fillers and drains, noise
max 95 db).

2.) Roy's Hill track rules, in addition to the above.

All bikes to have crash knobs / bungs / nylon, call it what you will to the
following areas,

a.) Front and rear axles, or front fork legs and rear swing arm ( which ever
protrudes the most ).

b.) The underside of both foot pegs.

c.) Handle bar ends. ( Alloy bark busters here on Motards,)

d.) Any part of the frame or engine that will touch the ground if the bike
was laid on it's side.( Some claim the RS 125 tail / seat and tyres hits
first, so they don't need nylon swingarm / axle protection ???).
If this is the case, we reserve the right to push it off the stand and see what hits?

e.) Lock wired oil and water filler caps.

f.) A Grade riders only permitted in practice sessions and A Grade races,
same applies for B Grade. Any reasonable request to run outside of your
class ( machine sorting etc.. is at the discretion of the Clerk of the
Course.) Going for a quick fang or extra track time is not reasonable.
