Has anyone ever relaced a Tiger 955 front wheel to a 21" rim,?Saves mucking about with discs and calipers etc.
Cheers.

Clever is true but for 15 hundy more you can have 2011 800.
675 looks look too shorter wheelbase to me, might get jittery at speed on shingle

I have seen this one in the flesh, so to speak. The guy is a Triumph enthusiast and started this project before the new 800 was announced. I suspect that he would keep it but he is new to adventure riding (no off road background at all I think) and being a bit short legged, it's turned out to be a bit taller than he is comfortable with.
It would suit me or any other rider with a bit more experience. I was impressed with the quality and the workmanship. The wheelbase is much more akin to the 1050 Tiger than to the 675.
I figured that he must be keen - decides to go adventure riding and builds a completely unique bike to do so. He had more than just an eye on Australia when I spoke to him. Went to see him on the DR to pick up a part for the Sprint. He took one look at the DR (still with all the OZ stickers) and I couldn't get away. It wasn't any hardship though - that's not the only item of interest in his workshop.

Interesting. Might be a bit revvy. Torque is king. :msn-wink:

You need to be really wealthy to be such an enthusiast.
Clearly he bought the wrong bike and perhaps Triumph wasn't the best route to satisfy his ambition.
Well done though!

sadly I have a dozen or so Triumphs but couldn't stretch to a Tiger 955 (leg-wise) so I thought I'd build my own, given 675s are brilliant (last count I had 3 not including this one) it was the obvious starter for 10
progress recently has reduced the seat height by a further inch and Roy at superior saddles on the Shore will hopefully improve on that this week
I'm also now the proud possessor of a box full of custom front and rear sprockets so I'm hoping the torque issue won't be one (for me at least)
then it's matching the back of the enlarged tank to the reworked seat and a final paint job
at which point an LVVTA cert beckons which will make the South Island and Oz trips technically legal
