A third choice for gender on the Census?

Just saw an item on the news about some stupid bint that thinks there should be a 3rd choice for Gender on the Census. If this were to go through I'd suggest the choices should be:


male
female
fuckwit


NOTE Birth Certificates list either Male or Female and no other choice. So hermaphradites gender is chosen by the parents (I think).

The site that I do new employee Police checks at for work has 4 options, Male, Female of course, I think the 3rd is Trans-gender and the 4th is 'Indeterminate'.

A few Censuses ago there were over 70,000 of us who said that our religion was Jedi. Despite that, the Chief Statistician wasn't having a bar of that in terms of adding it as a choice on future Censuses. The gall of the man. All of the religions listed are fantasies, so what is the criteria for not including another?

As for the male/female/other bizzo, medically there are more than two choices. But I suspect that's not the reason some vegan tree hugger wants a third category added.

When I worked for Justice many years ago, they had a system that had 4 genders

Male
Female
Changed Male
Changed Female

I was never sure whether the changed male / female was from or to.

The modern day option I suppose would be a he-she.

In the last census almost all the questions I wrote "intrusive" across ... only answered the ones I thought were important for civic and government planing - which are actually fuck all - and refused to answer the rest ...

Done that for several censii - no-one's every come back to me about it ..
