What's the youngest kids can ride PeeWee class?

I've got a two and a half year old who's almost at the size he can comfortably get his feet down on his PW50. He can already stand it up when it's lying down.

Over the next six months we'll be building the basics with him but I really want to get him in a club and competeing with other kids on PeeWee's before he steps into the proper minis.

So how old is old enoughj to get into it? Do clubs or MNZ have strict guidelines or is it more a case of "If they can do it, let them"?

just what i know there, each track will have its own rules but i think most stewards would be pretty strict on the no under 4's on race day,

let him have fun in a paddock, i have seen many kids that have been groomed from the youngest age to race, and are sick of it before there mid teens, sometimes with pretty bad results when they have the big bust up with there parents over it,

remember bike racing is ment to be fun 1st off,

Oh yeah, in complete agreement. Just don't want him to get sick of riding around in a field on his own.

Just means I'll have to get his big sisters a bike each so he can chase them around the place.

Our wee boy is having his first Minimoto next month as he is now 4, we've done alot of riding with him as a family and he hasnt seemed bored by it as being a typical boy he was happy to just be on his bike. Theres alot of kiddie tracks on trail rides up here which have been challanging enough for him to date. Im very much looking foward to seeing him ride with kids his own age as he's pretty cocky and wants to be a crusty demon :weird: But as Scott mentioned we dont want to push him to do what he dosnt want to, so we'll just see how it goes :niceone:

Our kids both started riding at 3 on quads but couldn't race until 4. Neither got bored & infact they still are quite happily riding where ever.
As much as the kids love the racing they also find race days they just don't get enough riding in. Tends to be 40 mins approx of riding all day.

your boy is doing awesome Buffy:niceone: We've only just got our girl riding on 2 wheels & she's 5 1/2yrs. Very stubborn & does things when & if it suits her and up to now she's been quite happy on the quad.
our boy we started too late (looking back now) on 2 wheels, but he's advanced really quick so we're currently chewing through bikes.

Nah mate. The LT already holds no interest to him, he's just keen as a bean to be on his PW. He even just sits on it half the day on its stand practicing his "heel clickers" (funny as all hell) and crap while I'm at work.
