Maybe you are thinking of your test as something to be "got through" so you can keep riding.

If you have mastered the basics well, understand the rules, and exercise the judgement you need to get to be an old biker, you will pass your test whereever you sit it.

When I got my licence you paid 5 quid for it and rode off. I'm lucky to be alive as a result, as I spent 10 years riding badly before I made a deliberate effort to learn to ride.

Treat your driving test as an opportunity to show that you have the skills and maturity to ride or drive safely anywhere.

And if you fail, well thats the system, imperfect as it is, attempting to save you life. So improve your skills, and try again.

totally agree, just got my full and went in with the mindset that i was going to pass easily as i am i good confident responsible rider
the result, a pass with no negative comment what so ever from the tester

Just ride fairly conservative, no splitting, wheelies, stoppies. dont break the speed limit (include in road works) stop for stop signs.
Should be asked to do a U turn. You should already be capable of doing that.
Pays to indicate at roundabouts. Definatly indicate to exit the roundabout and remember to switch it off too.
Will be asked to remember hazards and list some. Anything like when I did mine there was stuff all traffic so pretty much listed anything that was in sight.
Try not to loose the instructer but if you do stop & wait.
Everything should be explained clearly to you as you go.
Most important, relax.
I went for a 1/2 hour ride before my test focusing on being smooth.
Its really not hard to pass, you should be fine.
Oh check bike is up to wof standard, no blown bulbs etc

oh yea, you will need a bike. If you are borrowing one give yourself enough time to ride it a bit prior so you dont stall etc

I did my full at Northcross - I didn't get beyond the warm up stage. I was concerned that my speedo was inaccurate and therefore I was riding slower than I should (I had been warned about that in the restricted). The guy said he would rather I sped that go too slow. We went up East Coast Road, and when I got to the open road, I went hard. I gave my GN250 a hiding :Punk: He told me through the headset, after 10 minutes of riding (before I got to the actual test) that I had passed.
I had just finished a riding lesson with Doug Swanson before I sat the test, I did this to calm myself down and to warm up- I wasn't nervous at all, and I know this is what made me ride well.

Yeah similar experience with my test way back, out the back off the council chambers, ride to that lamppost u-turn, ride to that lamppost, u- turn and back.
The paperwork took longer than the test.

Chances are you'll get this Fijian Indian dude who is really cool and will pass you no worries. Didn't give me any rubbish and seemed like a genuine guy.

Then again, it all depends on if you get them on a good day sometimes.

Good luck.
