Fuck the "wives and girlfriends" argument, that's the sort of stereotyping that stops "real blokes" from buying bikes they can actually learn ADV riding on.
That looks like the perfect bike for me.

wasent stereotyping nothing the first part of my post was 'the perfect learners adv'
simply stating it cause theres a few of us on here whos partners are sick of riding pillion so theres a big search finding something suitable and then fucking around setting it up, where as this one looks to have all the goodies.
its not only for learners i know i would like a 250 in the stable for some lighter work.
real blokes ride Hondas anyway:bleh:
im guessing since its a tenere there luggage options and skid plate aye Nordie?

This was posted a few weeks ago in new bikes....

See linky for specs.
These have only been released in South America so far, hopefully see some coming this way.
It looks likes it's running the new generation air cooled XT250 motor, but fuel injected instead of carbed. Should be miserly on fuel and bloody reliable by all accounts.

Weight is getting up there for a 250, but it looks to have a lot of extras that you'd bolt on thereby adding weight anyway. Decent headlight, big tank, half fairing, grab rails. Frame appears to be tubular steel which is heavier but more field serviceable than alloy.
Seat height is the biggest concern, at 865mm (presumably that's what that unlabelled number means.) May not be for short arses without lowering. Compare the standard XT250 (http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/yamaha/yamaha_xt250%2010.htm) at 810mm, 9.8L & 123kg, long been a short-arse/novice fave.
