Yes I went. Turnout was below average.

However the track was quite good - started wet, then dried out while it was sunny, then just as we started a 3rd lap around 2.20pm (40km laps) it started to rain fairly heavily. It was bad enough to need googles off for most of the lap - especially when riding in the clouds on the higher section.

I think many people left around when the rain started.

I got really wet that last lap, and the track got quite slick. In places the clay ruts had streams running down them... made it tricky. I dont usually ride at walking pace downhills. Glad i had let my tire pressures right down earlier.

If it had been really dry, the track may have been a bit dull, but you can say that about a lot of rides. Most are best with rain the day/night before.

There was a challenging hill not too far in, with a 90degree right turn at the foot of it. That was tripping about 1/2 the riders up in the first lap. I failed, then tried again with lower pressure (must remember to carry a gauge). Was easy on lap 2 when it had dried a bit, and I bailed 3/4 of the way up on the last lap, and rode off the edge of the track to get up.

Good reply and I'm glad now I decided not to go, my mate was of the same opinion, always another day and good to see you're riding a two stroke too.:Police:

Had the 500 all ready to go after about 14 months in hibernation but, there's always another day ....take it easy
