May need a 1150GS fuel pump for a traveller mate (Fukengruver) [Archive]

Evening lads

Friend of ours Dicon from Alaska is touring around NZ on his 02 1150 GS, he is currently in Nelson and heading north, today/tomorrow.

He just rang to say his fuel pump is acting up and may need a new/another one, firstly does anyone have a spare or know of a spare or BMW shops that may be able to lay their hands on one.

Jeff Gray in Chch said certainly none in in the SI, so north is his only chance by the sounds of it.

Anyone who can help please reply here or pm would be great, many thanks.

It would be right groovy if the kiwibiker garage can help.

Just got a note from Dicon too, I will ask around if aything crosses over, I put a post up in the mechanicing section too. I have offered the use of my shed + tools if he gets this far.

Tell him to try contacting this guy. based somewhere South. If the part isn't listed on his Auctions he may still have it. If he has the part available and couriers it North I can help your mate fit it here. :niceone:
Gerard is a good bet but as he is on holiday somewhere North of here at present you probably wont get an answer from him for a couple of days :wait:

It looks like there is a Bosch fuel pump that is an almost bolt in replacement, p/n 69222 - but it is standard fitment on yank cars so maybe none in NZ? Will try to find out. It looks like any in tank pump 45psi/100lph & around the right size could be bodged to work in a pinch.

Edit, just asked a Q on bmwbikes trademe auction above - he has pumps listed but not for the R1150R, will await a response.

What model bike does he have? He told me via email he had an 02 R1150R which that ad states does not fit that pump? Or was there a typo in his message?

02 R 1150 GS, dude on tardme told me this one will work, asked him a question on another auction.

Dicons bike, (But 250000 more km on it)

Not sure what the difference between first number and the suppressed pump but thats the one the man wants :niceone:
Maybe suppressed is for if you have a stereophonic hi fi double overhead dipstick music while you ride system on the bike :bleh: With knobs for adjusting stuff and everything :weird::eek:

I have brought some stuff of the guy selling on tardusme. He is good to deal with, knows his stuff and his prices are good. He has a lot of parts that he hasnt got listed on toadem plus he is in Blenhiem. For a guy wanting Beemer bits in Nelson he is the first place I would go :niceone:

well the BMW is still going, hes been out to castlepoint beach and riversdale beach today,,and now is sitting on my couch having a piece of Pavlova.

tomorrow im taking him on a tip out to ngawi light house..

Yeah I think Dicon was gonna sneak out under the cover of darkness and flog Joes KTM pump :devil2:

.... he was talking about an oil change too so I wunda if he flogged Joe pre-used Dusty Butt oil :lol:

I did but I am not BMW wise, I did send Dicon the link but by then he was sorted.

I asked that TM dude some questions and he was helpful which was cool.

There was some confusion originally if this would fit. In the end he sourced a second hand one from a friend in Canada. The existing pump is still going - just noisy, which for Dicon didn't instill too much confidence. He was going to stay with John Forsyth until it arrived & sightsee Wellington for a while.
