Bike just ticked over 100 hours so it's time to do it's first top end overhaul:niceone:
Whats the best choice and differance?
#1 cast piston?
#2 forged piston?
#3 another genuine piston?
#4 Athena big bore:devil2:
Ive only heard good things about the athena kits, who sells them localy?

#3. Its done 100hrs on an original. Why change for the cost of a few bucks.

I was told Pro-x are the same as factor jap ones???
Ran 2 hi-comp wiesco pistons in my last kx250f with no probs and did heaps of hrs. Just have to warm the bike first.

Have you compression tested it to ascertain that it needs doing ?
Or are you just assuming because its done a certain number of hours it needs doing ?

The Later.
Its just for peice of mind,
The suzuki Manual recomends piston every 10 hours i think (under race conditions?)
The valves clearance are tighting up a little as well, so will be measuring and ordering some shims.
New chain sprockets as well, 80 hours on this set and the teeth have just started to round and curl.
So the bike will be getting a birthday.
