BMW R1150R fuel pump repair? [Archive]

Hi All, trying to help out an Alaskan rider travelling in NZ, just got a message from him saying the fuel pump on his 02 R1150R sounds bad, BMW have no stock in NZ. Are there any other options for fixing this? Can the pump unit or core be replaced with something more common? Are they rebuildable in any way? Anybody got a spare? Any info or pointers on where to find it would be welcome.

Clint, he.s ordered a new one via his mate in Cal. It'll be here in a few days. He's gone to Castlepoint today.
