I brought a B090f for a bike. (Same thing as a BT090 isn't it?)
and am suprized to find it say "Tube Type" on it.

Is that normal that the 090's were tube type?
or was there different models, B090f TT and BT090 TL ?

Thanks.
Racey.

they will be for spoked wheel rims. I have some 090 tubeless.

Interesting - what size, and what bike shop did you get that from ?

Size is 110/70-17
We got it from Northern wholesale. Was the last of their old stock, as they don't deal with Bridgestone now apparently.
Tyre made 4708 from memory.

Has been fitted to a tubeless rim, and seems to be fine on it. (ie not loosing pressure)
has not been ridden on yet.

So done a bit more research, and it seems they do indeed make a Tube Type 090.

http://www.bridgestone.com/products/motorcycle_tires/products/battlax/bt090.html

What would be the difference? If it holds it's presure on a Tubeless rim, without having a tube in it, (when cold), Does it really need a tube put in it??
Anyone experimented with that, and still lived to tell?

The BridgeStone 090 tyres are no longer made, and have been superceeded by the 003's.
The B090f refers to Front use only.
There was a 150/60x17 B090R TL made, (the only TL tyre reference i have.)
I think the Tube type was made specificly for Motards as the 090's were used a lot by them.

I hope the 003 fronts have a better tread depth than this b090f. (The rear 003 I got has 5mm)
I measured it today to find it has 3mm through the centre,
and only 2mm in the main wear zone to the edge of the tyre!
A Brand new tyre with 2mm of tread depth!! What's that about? Is it something to do with these TT 090's being designed for Motards or something?

Maybe the TL model is different. I know I'll be asking the tread depth question before ever buying Bridgestone again.
