And we decided not to put on our wets at the base of the Rimutakas (poor decision) & got soaked. And I picked up a slow puncture so I had a flat by the time I got home.
Mmmmm, wet leather....:(

to ngawi light house
It's actually the Cape Palliser lighthouse. http://www.teara.govt.nz/en/wairarapa-places/10/2
Well worth a look and accessible on road bikes in good weather, indeed that margin has been improved by the construction of a bridge replacing the ford. There's about 5km of gravel from Ngawi.

i didn't know the tea room had closed.
the track past the light house is now open to the public, remember to close the gates.. but gates still locked at white rock station...
