Hi guys,

Anyone looking for a cheap modern 600cc sportsbike? GSXR's rock and this one's no exception. It's a K1 Suzuki GSXR 600 in the Telefonica Colour Scheme (Apparently only 15 in the country). It's been a great reliable roadbike for me over the last few months but now I am making the next step and am going to buy my first 1000cc bike...no points for guessing what model I'm after.

Bike goes and handles great. It's a NZ new bike which did a season as a race bike but the engine went bang and was put in a garage, I've since put a new engine in it which has only done 2,000 road kms (speedo shows 22XXkms). Frame, subframes, forks, rims, discs are all straight. Engine starts first time everytime. Rims are from a SRAD bike (previous model 600) but they fit identically using the same tyres & sprockets as standard.

The bike isn't perfect, fairings have a small amount of damage which has been plastic welded and vinyled. Looks fine from a distance and damage is only noticable up close, haven't bothered getting a quote on getting them resprayed as it never worried me. Oh, and there's a small scratch on the left side of the frame under the fairing (didn't worry the testing station guys as it's not structural damage) The damage is taken into account with the amount I'm after. I've currently got it on Trademe & there's a bid for $6K for it. The reserve is $8K so before it got to that I thought I'd offer it to KBer's in case there's someone in here who wants to step up from a 250/400.

I got the bike unregistered (it's got no VTNZ history) and it's just flown through a VIN at a Vehicle Testing Station. Bike has rego till Dec 05 & WOF till June 06.

Sprockets, chain, pads are all good. Fluids have all been recently replaced.

Included with the bike are the single seat cowl, pillion seat, Ventura headlight protector, clear brakelight lens. Note: Packrack brackets in the photo not included sorry. As I raced one of these models myself I may be able to help with some consumables too.

Anyway pass this on to anyone who's after a six-hundy, give me a PM or email if you want any more info or want a look (I'm in Auckland).

Cheers,
Nicko

p.s. I took the photo at Piha while waiting for WINJA to catchup

You offering it cheaper than $8k to kiwibiker members
Where abouts in Auckland are you?
Also with the new engine put in, is it a brand new engine with 2000km, or has it done 2000km since you put it in (+ the amount of km it had done on previous bike)?
No problems with brakes, suspension..etc?

Hi Suney, small world..
Cheaper than $8K?...need the money to fund the next bike but sure I can arrange some sort of a deal for KBers.
Motor was meant to have done under 2000kms before I put it in. I've done about 1000kms on the bike so motor would have done about 3000 total. I can't be sure of the exact total mileage but this gives you an indication.
Brakes are mint, new fluid and EBC pads stop it on it's nose, had to get a brake test done for it to pass its VIN as well.
Suspension is standard but works well on the road, oh and forgot to mention it's got Ohlins valving in the front forks.

Cheers, Nicko.
