recently the love of my life gave me a big bundle of old biker mags from the Red Cross book sale ( $2 a supermarket bagful ) and I have dutifully applied myself to reading all of them. One thing I noticed ( apart from how damn ugly a lot ( not all ) of the bikes were in the early 90's ) was that most of the reviewers if they didn't like the bikes actually said so and often quite forcefully. Now don't get me wrong I am not bagging the reviews in current magazines which I enjoy but the reviews always seem to show whatever they are reviewing in the best possible light. Are the bikes so much better nowadays, are the journalists beng subjected to pressure for a good review so that the supply of new bikes continues or is it something else ?
