If you enjoyed the TG vs TGAU challenge portions, you might want to check out the Top Gear Australia Ashes Special - it's got a fair bit of footage of the challenge that wasn't in Top Gear S16E02.

Comments like that are funny. why? Well - in my book when you pick out an individual with a terminal illness and make fun of them - that's going too far. When you generalise a nation (eg. Kiwi's are sheep shaggers) - it's a well known myth / stereotype. What they said about Mexicans is another false stereotype that's been around for ages. Top Gear haven't "invented" anything offensive here. Even I'd have a laugh if NZ was poked at and feel honoured a lowly little country like ours gets a mention. If anything it probably promotes tourism.

The Mexicans should turn a negative into a positive. The ambassador should get his thinking cap on. Send a sombrero and poncho to each of them to wear in a future episode (more promotion).

Ist das de Nurburgring spezialist? The lady who can lap a transit van almost as fast as Clarkson can lap a diesel Jag?

Yup, she can drive.

Oops, see above.

She passed a Porsche Carrera in a transit on the brakes.:love:

How about top gear on prime this week...

Clarkson - "Motorcyclists go riding all over the place for no particular reason all the time. So if motorcyclists can do it, why not us humans..???"

Translation is obviously not a good point then.

You should give it a go. Don't think of it as a car show, just light entertainment. There is some gold amongst all the rubbish, especially the specials.

Personally, I think the show is starting to get a bit desperate.

It started as a Car Show, then a bit of the "three guys cocking about" crept in, which was good fun. Gradually the cocking about has increased, to the point that it's all but taken over - the show is now almost entirely Specials and Challenges, with very little serious car content. The natural and easy presentation (and interaction between the three presenters) has given way to an uneasy ratings-driven parody.

Where the balance should lie is entirely subjective, but I think the show has drifted too far into the frenetic slapstick. It's now more The Three Stooges than a Car Show.
