Help!!
I have a copy of a chinese genny probably a hyundi.
The motor is good and the generator itself is good, its the speed controler gizmo that tells the motor what HP the genny wants to produce the goods. She just sits on the limiter without producing and KVA's
Question is anyone out there with a stuffed genny who's speed controler I could try please or has anybody got any suggestions?

Had the same problem with mine. Full throttle all the time. Played around with it to no avail and sold it broken on TradeMe for half what I paid for it.

The one's I sell are a bit better quality so can't really compete with the cheap Chinese, but not a lot dearer. I can do a 2Kw for $600 and the 2.5Kw is for some reason a lot dearer and is $1100.
I know you can get 2Kw from Supercheap at the mo on sale for about $300, normally about $450.

Are your gennys the 'in a case' design or the in a frame type. Wouldn't a 2Kw genny be pushing it to run a set of warmers?
The genny I had was a 2.5 and shat itself running two sets but to be fair it ran two sets a few times times before it gave up the ghost.

I don't think one of them would last long with regular use before it decides to quit.

It's hard to say, they are in a frame except for the 700w which is in a case. Some are claiming the 2kw cheap one's are lasting well. Personally I think for lighter use the 2kw would be fine, but for more regular and heavier use I'd go for the 2.5kw.

I guess it depends again. Some are saying they've had a good run with the cheapies, others that they were trouble from the day they bought them.
While there can be bargains, the old adage that you generally get what you pay for is still true.
