Bloody delicious  And a real treat for me :woohoo:
I am about to go and pick myself a pile of lovely, flat, perfectly formed mushrooms from my back yard, I have a mushroom loving friend coming over for dinner tomorrow night, if she is really lucky I will share with her. Maha hates them :gob: so all the more for us.
Thing is, I have never, ever seen them so early  Who am I to complain though?
Is this global warming?
I cant find the tongue in cheek icon.

Butter for me, though I may be tempted to add a little bit of garlic avocado oil. I have become hooked on it. Oh garlic/butter mushrooms with bacon on toast

Knew a bloke once who had a saying....
''If we had bacon we could have bacon n' eggs if we had eggs''.

Ok, tis easy,
Make up a sauce base of olive oil, milk and butter. Fuse it togeher with a few chives and some finely chopped onion.
To that, add your musrooms and stir them in really well, dont have too much heat or the milk will curdle.
Next, add a small splash of white wine, let it reduce then pour some full fat cream over the top. Stir it all in until the cream thickens.
At the same time, have in the fry pan a couple of big, hick slices of wholegrain bread brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with a speck of brushed garlic. Fry that until the edges are golden.
Get the bread out, drop some butter on then spoon the mushrooms and sauce over.
Top it off with e teaspoon of basil pesto and you have an amazing brunch. Serve with a couple of strips of streaky bacon on the side and your favourite chilled whie wine.
Keep some bread behind to mop up the sauce in the pan and your plate.
Enjoy then go shagging for the afternoon.........quality........:woohoo:

How do you know which are good to eat, which would er, make you a bit spaced out if you're that way inclined and which are outright dangerous?
Always been something I'd love to learn. Nowadays me I'd just like the tasty breakfast variety.

These ones are big, white topped, flat mushrooms, used to call them field mushrooms as a kid. I am calling this variety back lawn mushrooms. I would not have a clue as to the waccy shrooms, and only eat the one I can recognise as food. Google would probably be your friend on this.

I bet both annoying lawn growths now breathe a sigh of relief that I no longer mow lawns.
