One of the times Bruce lapped me, we came out onto the back staright side by side.
Both giving our bikes nuts.

The K3 Gixer Thou he was on, left me for dead down the back straight! :mad:

oh well, at least one thing impressed you ie Bruces K3. A 99 R1 is no match for it in a straight line. Interestingly the 2000-2003 gsxr750 is a very close match for the 99. Don't despair the 99 R1 is still a legend in it's own right & as for getting lapped, I was lapped several times recently by Toast(zx6r) & Motobob?(cbr600rr) at puke. It had a chart with revs v's power and torque.

I had more corner exit speed than you mate. Being a 600 I could get on the gas earlier so when you got your R1 upright and on the gas I was already peaking. No doubt if we were at Ruapuna you would have pulled away on the straight.

If it makes you feel any better Martin, i've been quicker round manfeild on my TL than what i did on the K3, better track conditions counted for a lot though.
In no way is the old R1 slow though, it'll hold it's own in most places, it's just under powered and over weight thats all :Pokey:
