Bike Pic of the Week Competition.

I was looking at our homepage the other day and thought to myself the best looking part of it was the 'bikes for sale' pics. So I figured why not run a weekly competition where members can vote on each others bikes, with the winning pic taking centre stage on the homepage for a week.

*Cut off for photo entry will be 7pm Friday, with voting closing at 7pm Sunday. *The photo with the most votes will be then put on the homepage for the following week.
*You may vote as many times as you like, but you can only vote for a particular pic once that week.
*You can not vote for you own pic.
*Size limit of 800x600 (this can be done in MS Paint)
*The winning entry will then be ineligible from entering again.
*There won't be a poll, I'll just tally up the votes from the thread, which I'll sticky.

So show us the best/funniest/wtf?/action pics of your bike, and it might just end up on the homepage.

Well here we go. The Bitchin' Bike (TL of the Month) contest is set to start the first of next month. I wanted to get this posted up ahead of time so we could address any issues and work out some bugs. That and so you guys could tell me how completely insane I am for making such a complicated contest.

So here are the rules and they may change at any time since I have no clue if this will even work out as planned. Did I mention this would be confusing and complicated? Good just wanted to make that clear before you continue reading.

1.) From the first to the 8th (the dates may change) of each month members will be able to enter their bike or anyone else's bike for nomination. Just a basic thread with 1 or 2 bike pictures started in the "Contest Entries" sub forum of this forum will be sufficient.

2.) After you create the thread a staff member will turn your post into a yes/no poll (you don't start a poll the staff will take care of that) which will then allow members to vote on your bike. This voting is to get your bike into the actual monthly contest. Bikes receiving a 51% or greater yes vote will be entered into the actual Bitchin' Bike contest poll.

3.) An official Bitchin' Bike thread will be created each month with all the qualifying bikes in a poll for your voting pleasure. The official thread will start the 10th of the month and run until the 15th at which time the poll will be closed, and the monthly winner will be announced.

4.) The winner will get a super cool permanent image in their profile (kind of like the site supporters image) stating they were a past Bitchin' Bike winner. Once you have won you may not enter for one full year from your last win unless you are entering a different bike.

Why so complicated you may ask? Well I'm an idiot for one and can't do anything simple. I also wanted to allow guys to enter their own bike since in the past there were some very cool bikes that never made it to the contest. But my fear was there would be some crapper bikes entered which would not be appropriate so if we get to vote on them we can decide what is contest entry worthy. Plus it's just damn fun to vote on polls if you ask me.

So there you go, if you have any questions post up. Hell I created the darn thing and I have a bunch of questions.

At hawkgtforum we just have a nominations thread then that closes and a voting thread is put up, with pics and mod summaries of the nominated bikes.

Mind you that forum is more close-knit, so maybe some categories would be needed here, pristine stock, super-modified, hotted up racebikes, dirtbikes, old bike, etc.... if it's in a subforum it wouldn't matter much how many there are i reckon.
