Here it is folks, the bike event that makes The Amazing Race look like a game of hide and seek in a nudist camp….

The Fat Bikers Motorcycle Club Gut Bucket Race Day

This event will test your riding and eating skills to the limit. It will require tact, cunning, local knowledge and, above all, a nose for decent pastry and filling. You will be up against bikers all ages, genres and with varying waistlines.

It promises to be fast, furious, competitive and full of lard. Can you handle the challenge…??

Ok, details as follows:

When: Saturday 2nd April 2011
Where: Meet at KFC Quay Street, Auckland CBD
Time: 9.30am for a 10.00am start
Entry Fee: What ever you like, all entry fees will be donated to a children’s charity
What Will I Need? Enough money to buy a sausage roll and a camera....oh and your bike of course

The plan is for all riders to complete a time / distance challenge and return to the designated start line within a set time (1 hour). There will be trophies up for grabs, very special they are, a desirable addition to any modern household, bakery counter or knocking shop window.

Easy really….eh…eh….

Once all riders are back and everyone is happy, we will then ride as a group to the Two Fat Cows café and bar in Drury for more munching and prize giving. Should all be done, dusted, scoffed, watered and farty panted by 2pm.

So, step right up people, its all on…..woo hoo…….

I think Taupo would make an admirable CNI event locale.

Any takers?

Getting the numbers could be the hard part, I got no mates lol.

I have to hang out with skinny gym bunnies so they can feel good about themselves lol, LMAO.

Seriously, if there's a few from here keen, I'm keen. I have the day off, and Imagine a compass run in from like Vegas, Tok, Taihape etc, and a meet up at say KFC and then on with the events.

Basically for anyone too far from D'Auks or Welly to attend.

Mention sausage rolls and trophies to a pack of bikers and they stampede towards you like you are the lastr bottle of piss in the fridge at a party.

Nice one people

Just a little note on this eevent.

Entry fees are whatever you can afford, no worries there, but every cent raised from entry fees will be donated to these people:

http://www.fosterhope.co.nz/

I've been in touch with them and they are really grateful for any help they can get. These people do great work for kids so why not I reckon.

Take care, see you in April

I'm trying to keep this day free to join this time around. Missed the launch meeting. I'm not a fat biker as yet, but I'm on the way, and willing to apply myself, so hope that counts for something....

My Gut Bucket needs a fillin Max. Weekend looks good and the cause is a damned good one, I'm a starter, and I'm trying to get a couple of others along as well.

Good work fella, happy to see you

Oh and by the way, I have agreed NOT to wear a nurses costume on the day, hope that is of some comfort....

Cheers

Just got an email from Sam from Fosterhope in response to our fundraising at the recent Gut Bucket race day. To quote:

That is awesome, thank you so much! I had no expectations so that is just fantastic. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun :)

That sums it up people, its easy to have a lot of fun, raise a bit of cash and make a bit of difference. Get a bunch of bikers together, drop the bullshit that life throws up sometimes and just have a blast.

Thank you all for being part of this...and there is lots more to come...woo hoo..!!
