Five hundred and twenty eight slides (and change) winging their way into the Govenment's coffers later this morning - more than 10 bucks a week - ooooooooh it hurts

Yeah, but it's a cheap price to pay for all the high quality roads we get to ride on...

:shit: Oh don't put it like that... almost enough to make me look at peddle power again...so much pain just to :scooter:

I totally agree why a couple of weeks ago I was able to enjoy some lovely holes where cheap patches had lifted in the bad weather:facepalm:, thankfully I avoided them, wonder if a big one could stuff a wheel up?

If you think that's bad, then think of the people who drive diesel vans.

What's BIZARRE about all this (with a capital Q), is that the ACC levy for a 1000cc bike is only $2 per week more than a 250cc.

Talking annually here:
upto 600cc rego is $414 comprising $296 acc
6001cc+ rego is $528 comprising $396 acc

so the big bikes aren't getting as stung as I thought they'd be.

hopefully if this learner approved bike business with the power to weight ratios ever comes into effect they'll tidy up rego with power to weight costings as well. get rid of all the stupid situations like burgmans costing more to register than GSXR 600s etc.

Aw come on, get over it. It's only money! 'bout the same as a packet of cigarettes. .. or a 6 month golf club membership... And anyway, look at where the moneys going... benefits... MP's perks... more speed cameras... our roading network... the justice system... all valuable and reasonable! Actually health and education are getting a big share too...

I think we should be paying more.

$10 a week? Cheapest personal injury / income protection insurance you'll ever buy. :innocent: That's the way I look at it anyway. Makes it all a bit more paletable.

I await general flaming and red-repping...

The problem there is that I already have health insurance...now I'm paying for it twice!

Once you've paid your new higher priced rego, it's just lucky they now throw in all the fuel you can use for free.

Surely

Or you look at ways to reduce costs and that maybe by lessening the 6 mth charge or 12 mth charge to encourage full year payment. Alternatively they may choose to increase 3 mth charges to discourage people doing it.

Yes I have thought it through

Nice thought and I see where you're coming from - BUT that's not the way the government works, the cost to us the 'users' will only go up.
