Camping in Paeroa

looking for a place to camp in Paeroa on Saturday night.
Is there any where close to town,preferably some where to have a few ales(or a few Dozen).
Tried searching but having no luck..

They used to allow camping at the horse track.
Not sure if thats still the case.

I have camped in the DOC campground at the Kaurarenga Valley just out of Thames. Fairly basic & you have to carry in your own food & beer but a lovely spot & not far to ride on Sunday morning

the rugby club over behind the sports ground-$5- night and the have the bar open
